Diagnostic Procedures and Device Checks
Novant Health Ashe Cardiology makes it possible for you have heart concerns diagnosed and have heart devices monitored without traveling far from home. Patients in Jefferson, North Carolina, and Ashe County can rely on our office for the diagnosis and management of heart conditions.
We offer a variety of tests and procedures in our office so you do not have to visit a hospital. In-office procedures we offer include:
A stress tests gathers information about how the heart functions during activity. Your heart, blood pressure and breathing will be monitored while you complete physical activities.
An echocardiogram uses sound waves to create moving pictures of both the structure and function of the heart. This test does not hurt and is completely non-invasive.
An electrocardiogram is a test that looks at the electrical impulses produced by the heart. Sensors attached to the chest monitor impulses and record them as lines on a piece of paper.
A Holter Monitor looks at heart function over time. The tests involves sensors on the chest and a portable monitoring unit so heart function can be recorded during normal daily activities.
Should you need any lab work completed, including lipid profiles and coumadin checks, our office works with the nuclear lab at Ashe Memorial Hospital to have those tests completed and results reported back to your provider.
If you have a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), you can rely on the providers at Novant Health Ashe Cardiology to monitor the function of your device. You can also rely on our providers to advise you of any needed procedures or maintenance, and to make sure you have access to the resources you need.
